The Pitt Hillel JUC Student Board is looking for a Jewish Life Chair for Fall 2009. The Jewish Life Chair must be an undergraduate student at the University of Pittsburgh in good academic standing. He/She will serve from May 2009-November 2009.
Description:
- Lead the Jewish Life Committee to create events that educate and engage both Jewish and non-Jewish students.
- Educate University officials and student leaders about Judaism and also works with the university and the community to strengthen Jewish life on campus (examples: Kosher dining options, helping students acquire Shabbat keys)
- Work with other religious groups to create diverse events
Other responsibilities:
- Attending weekly board meetings and working with other committee chairs
- Holding weekly or bi-monthly committee meetings
- Attending Shabbat and Holidays board meetings at Hillel
